This software has always been buggy. Every time Intuit comes out with a new version, I have high hopes that they will address the long standing and major problems with this software. Alas, after many years and numerous "upgrades" this software has yet to function properly in some very basic tasks. This is a financial/accounting program, yet IT CANNOT CALCULATE PROPERLY. Numerous reports over the years state how Quicken improperly calculates or improperly displays basic information such as the amount of shares or the current value of shares in a portfolio. The concept and interface of Quicken is wonderful, unfortunately the reliability of its calculations is horrible. The only reason it is still around is that nobody has bothered to create anything on par with the functionality that it promises. When a true competitor emerges, Quicken will die the quick death of other application leaders that for too long ignored their user base... Quark Xpress comes to mind.

Please, somebody develop a software application to compete with Quicken.

We need easy check balance registers, online download support, portfolio management, etc. without all the bugs.
