Hello again,
From what I hear from customers and people "on the street" is that SuperDuper support is good and the product works nicely for a lot of customers. Other customers have an issue with SuperDuper or just plain prefer our Data Backup due to different features available. The same can be said for Data Backup (others prefer SuperDuper to it)...
As far as Disk Utility from Apple, it's actually very interesting that you bring that up.. Many people know that before it was called Disk Utility, it was called Drive SetUp... If you have an older mac lying around with Drive SetUp on it, do a Get Info on that app....It actually says, "licensed to Apple Computer from Prosoft Engineering." .... As far as Apple Support, some like it while others have had issues with it... I tend to like it , especially when compared to other computer manufacturers..
That leads us to the makers of iDefrag and iPartition.... I do not have personal experience dealing with their support.. From their website, it looks like they only offer Website FAQs and email support. Support via email for a disk utility can be less than desirable. The really interesting part to their website is the link I posted below... Here it is again:
Here's some great reading: http://www.coriolis-systems.com/refund-policy.php
It mentions that if you, the customer, are seeking a refund, and go to your credit card company to reverse the charges that they (the company) may indeed seek legal action against you for that money back as well as any money they spend on that legal action..
To me, and to potential customers, that doesn't sound so good. Number one, they are promoting a fairly aggressive action to their customers in case of a dispute (it's software, it doesn't really cost us (the developer) should someone steal it, not pay for it or get their "refund" by dealing with their own credit card company.. Number two, it is interesting that they have had to actually spell that out right on their website. Makes a customer wonder what has happened in the past to have them want to post that. I am just amazed that you do not find that attitude/threat not even worth talking about. On one side you have an award winning product used by Apple (Drive Genius) and on the other side you have the above threat from a company.. How can you not comment about that?
As far as your comments about Drive Genius just being a "demo" of the features included with your listed products, that is very far from the truth...
Drive Genius is used by the Apple Genius Bar every day to defrag drives... Why? Because it is a demo or somehow lesser of a product than others? No.. Apple uses it because they chose it as THE tool to use for defragging a hard drive, period.... No one else can claim that..
Drive Genius has the features listed on the box, on the website.. It does them very, very well.. So well that it's been awarded over and over again by all the major magazines as well as being chosen by Apple to be used at the Genius Bar for their ProCare Tune Up program.. Drive Genius does what it does better than any other tool set out there (So says MacUser, MacAddict, MacFormat, Macworld Magazine and many, many others.).
