Steermouse makes mice far more customizable and reliable than current crop of Logitech drivers. I wouldn't trust the reviews of people who have been using Steermouse only as a short trial and voice their opinions. You *can* set up a one-click spotlight (Steermouse will let you assign key sequences to buttons). It's true you cannot have two mouse drivers for the same mouse--it's surprising to see people remark "I have to uninstall LCC to use Stermouse". It's not logical to expect two drivers to duke it out for the same device.
Other reviews complain of the expense. I've been using Steermouse in production for more than a year. At $20, it has made high-end mice like the Logitech MX Revolution far more usable on a Mac. It's well worth the small cost given the weakness in Microsoft's and Logitech's drivers.

Much Better than Logitech's Own Driver - Kerwin Rabbitroo
Pretty Logical to gripe to Logitech which combines the drivers and doesn't let you install only on. Steermouse doesn't claim to be a keyboard driver and can't do anything if Logitech "steals" the mouse from it. FWIW: Steermouse can cohabitate with LCC and support other mice. Giving Steermouse a bad review because it can't undo Logitech's driver is not "logical." :)Wednesday, July 25 2007 @ 04:21 PM PDT

I never gave it a review period. Just pointing out that there are other reasons other than mouse features that one needs the LCC.Cool it chico.

And as for whether or not the developer is at fault (see a more recent comment above this one), a little forward thinking never hurt anyone. When offering this software up as a replacement for Logitech drivers, one must consider that they might also use a keyboard. Neither Logitech nor the developer would be to blame, but the consideration should be there when writing a review of this product and/or criticizing other reviews made by users for whatever reason.Wednesday, July 25 2007 @ 08:05 PM PDT

I still need the LCC installed for my Logitech keyboard to work though (unless I'm missing something). Pretty logical to me to gripe about having to uninstall LCC.Reply to This
