Hey, Mr. El i.gaucho: So I think it's great that you upgraded your review, but you still miss the point. WriteRoom is distraction free, feature-overload free, retro writing pleasure. My wife got this a while back and doesn't use anything else for writing. Even her online stuff, she drafts in WR. She is a switcher, and didn't even want to use Word on the Mac anymore.
I dig this ap to, because it hasn't caused her or our young son a single problem. I think the developer is right, in that it delivers on its promise. Like 200%. It may be niche, but it's an excellent ap in its niche.
I have a few other writer friends whom I have recommended this to (and for the PC guys I recommended they try that PC clone, can't remember the name or know whether it's as slick). At least two of our friends have fell in love with this too, and I'm not aware of any problems.
If you need feature-rich distraction and all that, fire up Word. If you want a simple, fast and kind of cool retro experience, this is it. (Though my wife uses this, I use a different ap, which I recommend for more project oriented writing, and it has a similar full screen mode--Copywrite. Not quite as simple as this, but if you need to organize docs in anyway, I also recommend that. I don't write books or screenplays, but I have a lot of writing projects, and for that, I would recommend a look at that as well.).
