This "feature" was actually introduced in 7.2 (at least it worked for me in versions of QT prior to 7.2).Perhaps that green button wasn't *meant* to be an expand button, that's exactly how it worked in QTPlayer prior to 7.2...click the green widget, movie expands to fill screen.
You can also do this by pressing Command-3.

That would likely be because the the (currently) green button has never meant "expand" in the history of the Mac. It's supposed to be a switch between distinct states. For most windows, the control is a toggle between the size the user has made the window and the "natural" size of the window, whatever that means to the application author.Reply to This
