Yeah, it ran perfectly. Shutdown. Hold power button, etc., etc..

After restarting, there were lots of strange behaviors, which boiled down to many System Prefs being disabled: No desktop picture on external monitor. Mouseworks scrolling disabled. Expose disabled. And other things.

I shut down, then Zapped the PRAM.
Hit Power Button. IMMEDIATELY hold Command-Option-P-R keys.
Wait for restart tone twice, more if you like.

Everything is back to normal.
