First, I've asked the moderators to remove appearance.tech's comment. Its just a baseless accusation that doesn't deserve any merit - and a pretty darn serious one to make against us or any other software developer.
To ward off any other comments accusing ImageWell of bypassing firewalls to detect pirated numbers I'll post this in the open.
ImageWell 3.2.2 has two pirated numbers inside the product that it checks -

If someone types either of these numbers in the registration field, ImageWell launches the web browser to point to a page with a message about software piracy and then ImageWell quits.
It's just that simple. No phoning home, no bypassing firewalls etc. I don't even think it's technically possible for any application to shut off a firewall without the user typing in the Administrator password - this is what makes OS X secure.

I will ask them to remove the comment based on your openness.However, there is a slippery slope that harms the privacy of the innocent that needs to be avoided when fighting piracy.
