The acquisition of this product by Smith Micro, purveyor of OEM packaged junk software, is appropriate. The most current verison of Stuffit Expander occasionally fails to extract the icon correctly from Zip archives, at least on Intel Macs. Apple's zip extractor handles this fine.

This application basically went in the tank when Raymond Lau stopped working on it, which was 15 years ago ago.

There is no reason to use SIT format archives any more, and the sooner those disappear, the quicker we can be free of this piece of bugware.
