This update is realy significant. Though there are no new features listed here at Versiontracker, one of the major, and I mean Major, improvements is the ability to connect to external SQL databases. Live connections to MySQL, wow! Now it's possible to use the ease of creating lay-outs in Filemaker to create great interfaces for SQL databases.

Upload to SQL - Stimpson
Yes it can upload to SQL databses. Create a new table from an ODBC connection. You automaticaly get a new layout with all the fields from the remote database (or create your own layout, Filemaker stile). Making changes in any data, will be uploaded to the remote SQL database as soon as you click outside a field or go to the next record.Monday, September 03 2007 @ 02:33 AM PDT
Huge update - Jefferis Peterson
It appears that while Filemaker Pro 9 can now read from MySql, it cannot upload data to it... So it appears the update's usefulness is somewhat limitedReply to This
