F12 key doesn't open optical drive tray anymore

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Contributed by: Rorqual Sunday, July 08 2007 @ 06:11 AM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

I had to revert to version 2.1.4, because a prolonged press of the F12 key doesn't open the optical drive tray anymore. Now short or prolonged F12 just invokes Dashboard, whereas in 2.1.4 and earlier, the key has both duties. I use a Cordless iTouch Keyboard with OS 10.4.10 on a Power Mac G5.

Also in their infinite wisdom, Logitech renamed the kernel extension from LogitechUSBHIDevices.kext to LogitechHIDDevices.kext. So make sure to deinstall the 2.2.2 before installing reinstalling 2.1.4, otherwise the 2.2.2 extension will still be present and in control.
