Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: NO

I updated from the previous version, paying for the touted new features. I'd had no significant problems with the earlier version, running XP in several incarnations. When I opened Parallels for the first time this time around, it began to install its toolbox, and crashed when about 80% complete. I cannot get it past this phase in my admin user. I have a non-admin user; that comes up and reports that it can't attach hardware because it lacks privileges (I'm not sure what it wants to do; probably run the toolbox install!). I am able to run Internet Explorer and browse the web with the non-admin user, which is good. But I cannot get the admin account to work. I may try deleting it and setting up a new user...but if I am not an admin, I'm not sure how I can do that.

I'm discouraged by the negative reports about support, or lack of it, here.
