I too have been using this for over a year and have had no problems.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Maybe there are only problems with certain machines/OS versions.

Simon, can you boot from a Universal Tiger DVD inside its internal drive, or boot from any external drive? I've got a hunch that Monolingual might have deleted (or changed) something very crucial down boot rom or something. Thank you.
