Logic Express is excellent. But sooner or later you are going to want to leave the mouse/keyboard behind. This is where my usage tip comes in. The low-cost Behringer BCF2000 (if you have the cash for better rigs then go get 'em, I'm trying to keep it real here). Behringer always has crappy documentation (that's why they have low prices).
