BatteryViewer seems to work in OS X 10.3.9.
If you're short on menu bar space, the option to have its display jammed all the way deep into either the left or right corner will appeal to you...maybe even make it worth the price.
Personally, though, I couldn't find a single display option that appealed to me in the least...not for $8.50, not even for free; they are innovative, but, as far as I'm concerned, none is particularly pleasing to look at.

Fair enough evaluation from your point of view.I'd just like to point out that, as well as putting the display into the corners, BatteryViewer has options to display the battery level across the whole of the menubar - or even over the whole desktop. Thus, while you can jam it into the corners, you can also make it really big - and still not take up extra real-estate!
