I don't think I'm going to install this version. I already have 4.5.1 installed. I can understand that maybe they'd want you to pay for the encoder (DivX does the same), but I can't believe that they want you to pay for the decoder as well! Especially when it doesn't play any filetypes that you can't play with another free solution, such as the DivX decoder or Perian.
3ivx is mpeg 4 - Ilgaz
Lets not get into the famous EULA of "free divx codec", you should read it in a free time. Notice words like "toolbar", "no transcoding" especially. The 3ivx is a mpeg 4 codec. It is just offering more options than average, pre installed mpeg 4 codec and has some huge processing optimisations. The decoder is offered to people wanting a lot faster and better mpeg 4 component than the one comes with their OS.
Stuff you create with 3ivx are standard mpeg 4 files, nothing else.
So in fact you need to pay or accept some monster EULA to play Divx created files while 3ivx will play in any mpeg4 compliant software/device down to Sony PSP.
