I actually was quite happy with the earlier version of the software, but the remote itself turned out to be a piece of absolute junk. As soon as the warranty expired, the buttons stopped working and the battery cover fell out so often that I had to hold the thing together with gaffer's tape and rubber bands. Logitech apparently knows it's junk, too, because they have no sympathy for the user who's stuck with one of these paperweights. I've gone back to using multiple remotes and after dealing with the dysfunctional Harmony remote, wading through a pile of remotes doesn't seem so bad after all.

You must have gotten a bad one. I've had several, and they've been top notch (though I won't buy any more with the soft rubber buttons as they do wear more over time).

I have had mine since last November. I run a 50" Sony LCD, BOSE Home Theatre and Dish High Def, dual tuner DVR among other things (lights and even my coffee maker). This goes all over the house and never a bit of trouble with it. And, it has been dropped on a hardwood floor two times minimum.

Software running on an iMac 20" 2GHz Core Duo Intel machine, and again, absolutely no problems.
