Who killed Canvas for the Mac? - rrealrose89

Mr Franklin -
Is this a joke?
I have been working for more than a month to upgrade a significant quantity of older Canvas files to find out that ACD decided only to support the PC version? This is old school thinking. What other options are out there for technical drawing, image editing and page layout on the Mac? Yes, most files are ultimately imported into PageMaker/InDesign or Ppt, so the Canvas name does not show at the large graphics houses. Please keep in mind that Apple is now 15% of the NA personal computer market up from 5% a few years ago...and Adobe does not hold a candle to this niche market without purchasing their entire costly software bundle.
I think you can do better than this!
Canvas versions 5, 6.5 and 7 are some of the most intuitive technical drawing packages ever. (Are you throwing the baby out with the bathwater?)

Cross Platform = Junky Software - Pen Dragon

At one time Canvas was the best illustration program on the Mac---tons better than Illustrator. Now? Run, Forest, run! Cross platform means developed on Windows and ported to the Mac. Or, even worse, it means lukewarm Java. Ouch! It means junk software. Been there, done that. As an alternative, try Intaglio, ZuesDraw, or any of the new school drawing apps. The time of Canvas has past. Let it go and be a Windoze app.
