Better than Microsoft's beta converter...

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Contributed by: macaholic Friday, May 18 2007 @ 05:21 PM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

Recommend Product: YES

The following is from the M$ converter page:

The following issues might occur in this Beta release:

Graphics and other objects in the document might appear with a different size.
Color fills and shading in tables might not be preserved.
Conversion might not succeed if the document contains a bibliography or citations.
Conversion might not succeed if the document contains WordArt.
Document layout and formatting might not be preserved.
Some Unicode characters might not be preserved.
Conversion might not succeed if the document contains very large pictures.
Conversion might not succeed if you use an SMB network volume as the preferred destination for converted files.
Picture bullets might not be preserved.
Fonts might be substituted.

So, IMHO docXconverter does a better job.

Better than Microsoft's beta converter... - a153957

A lot of 'mights' there.. and IMVIO not such important factors.. so just try the free things, and see if it works for you..

and there is the 20 bucks to consider.. or just an email to the people that madde the docx to make a doc, or just wait for word 2008 for mac.. due at the end of this year.... if you can wait..

Better than Microsoft's beta converter... - doctor-t

Telling us that docXConverter is better than beta software is not helpful. That's like saying I drive better than my unborn nephew. What was good and bad about docXConverter?
