After Log Out my Admin Password malfunctioned

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

After installiing this app re-login was required when I restarted the login screen screen should have stopped and waited for my password instead it flashed then the admin desktop appeared and all seemed normal. Until I went to the Sysem Preferences to check my password. The computer does not accept my password! It comes back with "Sorry, you have entered an invalid username or password." I haven't changed my password in 3 years! I'm afraid to shut down now at all! I'm backing up the entire machine. #@!***%

After Log Out my Admin Password malfunctioned - Tekuris

Hi,

I doubt that this can be related to Finder Browser as it interacts only with the Finder and your problem appears to be with the login window which is a separate application, but, I am interested to know more about your system and what you have done since the previous reboot.

Were you working in your admin account and have you recently updated OS X (and to what version)?

It may be easiest for you to go to http://www.tekuris.com/contact and I will attempt to help you in any way I can.

After Log Out my Admin Password malfunctioned - perkowski

I just purchased a 800 gig drive so the First thing I did was a complete backup. Manually securing my critical work.
Yes, I was working in the Admin level.
I am using the latest and greatest from Apple. 10.4.9 I'm on a G4 PowerBook 1.25 ghz 1 gig RAM
Hopefully it was just some whacky hiccup on the previous Logout.
I am about to Restart. Wish me luck!

I'll post an update - It may be a while.....

After Log Out my Admin Password malfunctioned - perkowski

Well, I restarted and the Login Screen flashed again taking me on to the Desktop. I opened the System Preferences and checked the Accounts clicking on the Lock the password dialog came up and I entered my password. I received the "Unauthorized" notice. On a hunch I tried again with a BLANK password and bingo I was in! What the hell? How did my Admin Password change to an Empty Field? I changed it immediately to the old password. (I'm old I need to remember this puppy)
Anyway...No fault of the software it was a Log Out/Log In glitch.
Thanks for the concern.
I'll post a new message with a Title that Recants any problem with the App.
