I am unable to open VueScan using 24", 2.16GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo. At startup I get the following prompt "VueScan found a Canon 9950F, but wasn't able to find an Intel plugin for this scanner." Might anyone have an idea why I am unable to open this application? Thanks! Runnning OS 10.4.9.

You need Universal pluggins. Try and see if the newest drivers for your scanner are UniversalFrancisco

Try running VueScan under Rosetta. Open the info window for the application, click "Open using Rosetta."Friday, May 18 2007 @ 09:02 PM PDT

I had a similar problem with a PrimeFilm 3650U. But with my error message it said to try and open it using Rosetta. So, I did.Open the Get Info window for the application in the finder. Check the check box next to the "Open Using Rosetta" line (it's under the colored dots to change the label colors). Then launch the application again. It will hopefully then see the PowerPC driver for your scanner. This fixed it for me.
I just got an email back from Ed Hamrick about it and that is also what he told me I'd need to do. That is until the manufacturer for my scanner developes the Universal Binary version of the scanner driver.
