rb3d: read some reviews mate, AVG is in the top 10... counting from the bottom. Does not pickup a half of viruses, plus it is a bloatware :)

Free way to catch a virus - bousozoku

I'd say that you are confused. After running the free version for almost 2 years, I've yet to have any viruses. It's a bit annoying to download a virus definition file every day but it's better than ending up with a virus.

I know that others are recommended to be better, namely NOD32 and Kaspersky anti-virus, but this works as well as Norton or McAfee.
