I am using a G4 Powerbook running 10.4.9. I installed the update this morning and had absolutely no problems and all is working well. As always I ran Repair Permissions after installation.
I am still wondering why a Security Update did not showup on Software Updates in my System Preferences when I ran it? Updates of this nature from Apple have always appeared there.
There have been a number of complaints about this update and I wonder if some are not running one of the wrong updates as three appeared. I went to the Apple site to download my update.
Apple Security Update
for PPC OS X 10.4.11
Version: 2008-008
Latest Security Update - thecreativestudio
Isn't this a different version of the update- a standalone or specific to certain machines? I think that if Software Update doesn't see it, then you should not install. Avoid headaches. Think B4 you leap into this update or any other.James
