Cannot run update

Feedback Type:  Commentary

Contributed by: Douglas Weiss Wednesday, May 02 2007 @ 09:54 PM PDT

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: NO

The update program scans and detects a d2 drive that is says needs updating. I click on update. I get a warning that I am about to update FireWire bridge firmware from v1.02 (Oct 2006) to V1.02b (Jan 20 2006). Now this does not make sense at all. The update is dated prior to the older version. I click on ok and nothing happens. I'm left back at the previous update window.

Cannot run update - Edwin-schemer

Same here. It determined that my DVD-burner does not need an update and made me unplug it.
Then it told me that my 160 GB disk needs the update (info say it is at v. 1.02 of Oct 2004) but does not do anything.
If I click on the skip button it proposes to change the icon for the partitions (which it did).
At one of the attempts it mounted a nonexistent drive (I had a USB emergency startup disk mounted a few days ago and it
confused the LaCie disk with that one (god knows where it got the data?).

Someone better contact La Cie about this.

I sent a report to LaCie - Edwin-schemer

Let's hope they fix it.

Cannot run update - deejemon

Ditto. It's supposed to ask for authentication, but doesn't. Took a stab, enabled root, logged in as root, tried again; same thing.

Whatever it is, it's busted. At least it's a "no damage caused" bug.

Same here. When run for another drive says earlier version( 1.v2aBD) is later than this version!
