Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 1-6 months

Recommend Product: YES

I started back in 1994 or 95 with a 6100/66 dos compatible machine and it didn't work. I have tried Virtual PC and it was so slooooooow. I tried all sorts of beta software and they didn't work. This is the first bit of software that works so beautifully that I cannot believe it. I use one specialist bit of software that is only available on PC and everything else is on the Mac. I only need it for that one bit of software and Parallels is nothing short of genius. The Coherence mode is stunning. It is the best of both worlds for me. I feel sorry for the poor guy who lost his data but it has worked flawlessly for me. I can highly recommend this software. Another recommendation would be to just run any old version of Windows and not try to do Vista. Vista’s advertising is "The wow starts now" but for Mac users the Wow started years ago. Why would you bother installing inferior software than you already have, just use the Mac and run Windows only when there is no alternative.

For 12 years I have been trying to run Windows on a Mac - Dennis Fleisher

Yes. I did it about 2 months ago. The procedure was not "clearly" explained in any of the software documentation that I found; perhaps it's just that there were things that I did not understand. But, by trial-and-error I did get a VPC image converted. I do recall that it didn't take long, but it took me 2 or 3 tries.

Read the documentation carefully a few times. Perhaps someone has provided a clear step-by-step on the Parallels users or support sites. I frankly can't quite remember how I did it, but I DID do it and use it regularly.
