I was installing 2.60 language update and the updater says:
"Erasing... This may take a few minutes."
"Please do not unplug the Garmin device during the update."
It has been a long time now. Seems hung. I fear I have destroyed the firmware. The C330 is in "Transferring Date" state.
5.40 installed just fine.
What is there to do but interrupt it and see what the damage is?

Spoke to soon. C330 no longer speaks to me, so it looks like I have erased the audio file. I'll try to apply the 2.60 language update again and see what happens, leaving it overnight, if required. ;-)Sunday, April 29 2007 @ 10:28 AM PDT

I had the same problem with webupdater and my Edge 305. The system hung with the same error messages and after 3 hous I gave up and contacted Garmin. We disconnected the unit and it turns out the erase was never executed on the Edge; so, I was OK.I sent as much info as possible to the beta team and actually got a response back saying they were sending it on to the Edge team to evaluate. I'm waiting for the next version to come out before I try again.
FWIW, I have one of the first versions of the Edge 305 running the firmware that come with it. Thus, it's pretty far out of date.

Well, I killed it and restarted the updater and reinstalled the base software and it seems OK. I don't recomment running the 2.60 language updater, though.Reply to This
