I realize this is a beta, but on my G5 iMac (10.4.9) After launching, it wouldn't create a new document and I couldn't open any existing documents. (RTF, etc.) So after about 15 minutes, it went back to the trash where the rest of my Nisus experiments have gone. (most of them went for a lot longer!) Mellel remains my choice whenever I'm not "locked" into using Word 2004.

Actually, the Free Nisus Thesaurus is pretty nice!

missing preferences - Saladin2

The problem only occurs for those that had never run an OSX version of Nisus Writer. It had to do with missing preferences.
There is a new download that fixes the issue (the file is called "NWP-pb1.dmg" instead of "NWP-pb.dmg"). Download it from:
