Seeing that Apple had inexplicably neglected to provide a way to automatically monitor OS X RAID arrays, Maza Digital provided this excellent utility to do it via an easy to use interface, even sporting a menubar icon option that instantly shows RAID health and provides immediate access to all functions.
I've used RAID Monitor as well as one of its prefpane-based competitors and RAID Monitor wins hands down. The options are excellent, not only monitoring OS X software RAIDs, but also the Apple-branded MegaRAID XServe RAID5 card and SMART status of the individual drives.
The company is extremely responsive to suggestions and bug reports, and the automatic update capability exceeds that of most commercial software.
As an IT Director concerned about the many unmonitored RAID arrays in my organization, I purchased licenses for all of my OS X enterprise servers and desktop systems running RAID arrays and have been extremely pleased with the quality and feature set of this essential utility as well as with the excellent customer service and responsiveness of the company.
I have no association with the company except as a very satisfied customer.
