Latest system update, odd behavior

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: 6-12 months

One of the most recent software updates has caused XMenu to display incorrectly. I'm on 10.4.9, I'm not positive if it was the 10.4.9 update itself or just one of the recent updates (i.e. a security update).

The problem is that the XMenu icon now loads as the right-most icon, even to the right of the Spotlight icon. The problem is that the 'curved' part of the menu draws to the right of hte Spotlight icon... so the XMenu icon is out beyond the curved edge of the menu bar!

The workaround of command-clicking, selecting preferences and toggling 'draw to the left...' will get the icon back in the menu bar like it is supposed to be, but that is a real hassle to do every time I log on.

Latest system update, odd behavior - taughd

I am using XMenu 1.8 with Mac OS 10.4.9, and have not had problems with the menu location. I have the preference "To the left of menu extras" checked", and the menu stays there. XMenu doesn't load to the right of spotlight at any time on my system, however. Maybe it would help to quit XMenu, trash the com.devon-technologies.XMenu.plist preference, and relaunch XMenu. I wonder if there might be even be a Finder preference problem? An alternative, if you have a troubleshooting account, would be to log in to it and see if XMenu works in the other account. That would indicate a preference problem.

I get the same "Icon-to-the-right-of-Spotlight-icon" symptom. Annoying. Obviously *not* a "feature."
