I found it does not work with my eTrex Vista and looked further into the issue. Apparently, Garmin will not be offering Mac Support for GPS units with Serial interfaces (even though mine is less than 4 months old!) I bought mine with the promise from the company I bought it from that it would soon be supported on the Mac. Nothing but lies from them and from Garmin!

I reported the problem to Garmin, and received this reply.

"Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

Sorry about the trouble you have been having. There is a problem with our server not allowing this function. Our IT department is working on the issue and looking to resolve it soon. I would try back later in the week.
