Applejack is not working for me anymore. I have the latest version. What it's doing is either failing to complete the successful typing of "applejack" at the prompt (I'll get a couple of letters out and then the last letter typed will begin repeating to the exclusion of anything else being typed in and will not stop, or after a successful input of "applejack" at the prompt, during one of the maintenance operations the program at some point will begin rapid scrolling of apparent random characters that will not stop. In either case, only a force shutdown of the computer will quit applejack. Applejack would do this occasionally when I was running 10.4.8 but with 10.4.9 it's every time I try it.
System Info:G5 2Ghz Powermac dual running 10.4.9

Question: Have the users who are experiencing this rebooted twice after the 10.4.9 update? After installing 10.4.9, you need to reboot your Mac at least once (and the OS should make you reboot twice) before you can go to single user mode.Saturday, April 07 2007 @ 06:26 PM PDT
Reinstall Applejack, does it help? - Ilgaz
Hi,I think you should click the "developers website" and report this problem in normal way but here is a thing to try. Download it again and reinstall over itself. If it works fine than there is a problem with 10.4.9 updater which removes applejack.

Applejack has stopped working - Jason!
I used AppleJack to Repair Disk & Repair Permissions prior under 10.4.9, prior to installing 10.4.10. I then downloaded the 10.4.10 Combo updater and used that to install the OS update. System rebooted twice and I didn't see any trouble with Entourage or Safari or my other apps. I then rebooted with CMD-S down and tried AppleJack Repair Disk & Repair Permissions again. No problem using either.I am using a 1.3GHz G4 Cube Mac with 1GB RAM.

I am able to reproduce the problem on my Mac Pro after updating to 10.4.9 - when booting in single user mode, the Applejack prompt eventually appears but the cursor does not blink, and no input from the keyboard is accepted - wired or wireless. I didn't have the "rapid text scrolling" symptom, though.Reinstalling Applejack 1.4.3 and reapplying the 10.4.9 Combo updater didn't help.
