While Battery Health Monitor seems like a very useful little app I can’t get the Beachball to stop spinning. Every time I’ve launched it, after retrieving battery info the beachball keeps spinning and have had to Force Quit it.

Spinning Beachball - Tony Walton

Same here (G3 iBook running 10.3.9). I'm also a little sceptical about the "number of charges" rating; my battery appears to have been recharged 104% of the number of charges it supports, yet I'm still getting some 2½ hours of useful life out of it.

Spinning Beachball - sonoragraphics

We only recently became aware of the problem with G3 iBooks (and perhaps PowerBooks as well) when a user contacted us. We are looking into the issue.

As for the number of charge cycles shown, the percentage value is approximate and will vary by battery type and usage. The 100% figure is based on Apple's estimates--your mileage will vary.
