Um, this is just an Automator workflow wrapped in an application bundle. It does essentially the same thing as the "Create Archive of . . ." command int the Finder. The only difference is that it asks you for "save as" name for the archive.
The Automator workflow is two steps, get Finder selection and create archive. I suppose for someone who doesn't know anything about Automator and doesn't want to use the Finder's built-in features, this may be useful. Otherwise . ..

Your absolutely right, but you would be suprised at how many people just want to be able to do what this app does but dont know how. I support over 100 mac users in a large advertising agency and in a previous life worked as a Mac Genius, there are lots of new and existing users that just use their mac as a work tool and dont have the time to explore, these are the people that my apps are aimed at. Appologies if you feel you have been cheated in some way, but to be fair, the application does do exactly what it is described.Reply to This
