Hello Parallels People, please tell us what to do to get windows to realize we are using the same computer so we don't have to keep calling Microsoft Customer Service. I'm afraid they are going to accuse me of putting windows XP on several computers.

Windows needs to be re-activated - rob37

I'd like to know the answer as well. I've had to stop using Parallels with BootCamp because I'd have to pay Microsoft another $250 for the privilege. Windows is installed on Bootcamp, but to access it via parallels requires another activation.

I had called Microsoft over 200 times to get it activited. They won't accuse you of it. Parallels will never be able to solve this problem, and the reason is simple, Microsoft Activation detects different hardware. Remember, only the CPU ain't emulated but everything else is. The ID comes from the GPU, Memory, Motherboard, etc. and since all that differs from the real Mac and Parallels, only Microsoft could solve this.

PS...Call microsoft to activate when running in Parallels and say that its only installed on 1 computer. They will activate and you can use it in both Boot Camp and Parallels. Also note that if you have Office, it must be activated in Boot Camp and Parallels also.

Personally, I gave up on using one license in two places. Too much voodoo, and you can't save your current files in Parallels, either. I now use a Windows 2000 install for Parallels, and an XP install for Boot Camp. Much better.
