Ah folks, let's keep in mind that this is a Beta!

There is bound to be issues with it.

So revert back to your older version if need be, making sure you have it BEFORE you upgrade!

While I realise that a Beta may have faults, even with Version 1.6.4 the original Powermate (several years old) and a brand new one would not 'boot up' properly after a restart.

I do wonder whether the problem is connected with the upgrade to OS 10.4.9 from 10.4.8.

I think a beta this flawed (completely not working in some instances - mine), or any beta, and one that comes with an uninstall program, like this one does, aught to prepare the HD for reinstallation of the prior version. In other words, it should either 1. remove the .pkg file or 2. allow overwriting of the beta .pkg file when reinstalling the prior version, or whatever is required.

Yes I agree, but as you yourself replied to bnewendorp's post earlier in this thread, there is a way through the terminal to do this.

I agree that Griffin's beta should do this properly, but my point for my post is that these are the kinds of issues that frequently occur with any beta, so all users should beware of things like this!
