Is peer-to-peer dead?

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: NO

So, is it possible to use this program to find anything of any value anymore? Even searches for basic and very common files limited sources. Of course every search finds this crap:

New Movie Preview - PRIDE - Watch the Trailer Now

korn - freakonaleash - unplugged

So much for file sharing...

Is peer-to-peer dead? - i_gaucho

Mostly just Gnutella. Everyone knows that Bit Torrent is the in thing these days. :P

gnutella p2p is obsolete. as stated above, you just have to find a more modern form of file-sharing that suits you.

bittorrent suits most people's needs (which is pirating popular mainstream music & movies)

if your tastes are more obscure (you like live bootlegs for example) torrents will probably not cut it:

1) rapidshare / megaupload. search the web for a good form in your niche where people are willing to share their stuff

2) usenet. basically an old version of the internet which still works wonders for file sharing. most secure, biggest selection by far. you have to pay small monthly fee.
