If you link from here you get the free player without having to search for things. The player installs and works fine. You don't have to fill out any forms now. However don't bother downloading Real if you want to watch BBC or other news video sites as they don't work with the latest version, despite what the Real website tells you. You try to watch the vids and Firefox tells you that it cannot play the vid as you apparently need further 'plugins'. Clicking on the link you are asked to download some version 10.5..? WTF? I thought I just downloaded the latest version from Real (10.1)? Looking at the date of the '10.5' version it says 2005.. and the latest version (10.1) is dated 2006.. so I don't know what the heck is going on with it. Doesn't work on Safari either. Something about MIME plugins..
So, it is pretty crap really. Why don't more newsites use Quicktime?
Good news: Reuters has videos playable on the Mac!!
RealPlayer

The Gold membership link from Vtracker is free - but don't bother downloading it
