Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Less than a month

Recommend Product: YES

Recently I purchased a fancy new intelligent 4 slot bread and bagel toaster with programmable electronic controls and a USB port from which the controls can be modified or remotely triggered using a connected computer. You can also connect the computer to the toaster with bluetooth for wireless connection, though so far I am just using a cable. The idea is that the owner can customize and operate the individual slot timers and heat settings and so on. Guess what! I was able to upload PortableOSX to my toaster! It transfered smoothly, and I rebooted the toaster to finish installation. With PortableOSX installed, the knobs and buttons on the toaster seem to have some new functionality which is excellent. I'm just not sure how to control the toaster OS from the stand-alone toaster, when the USB cable is disconnected from the computer. I imagine I should change the toaster connection to bluetooth now, but there's nothing in the toaster manual about this, and I couldn't find anything helpful in the PortableOSX documentation. Does anyone out there know which toaster knobs control which system settings and how to connect a toaster running PortableOSX to a desktop running OSX 10.4.9? Thanks.

MAcToaster up and running! - Jack Overfull

well, you could install a VNC server on the toaster and a client on your mac. or, if you want to spend some money you can buy Apple Remote Deskktop or Timbuktu, though i think that you should wait until leopard is out: it will have basic ARD features bundled (and it will also be able to control a Tiger system).

If that is the kind of reply that you wanted to read…

Are you an Idiot? - blueskymining

Anybody know that Mac OS X is only suitable for appliances like Washing Machines and Toilets. The washer to clean all the Bugs out and the Toilet to flush OS X down the drain.
