Installed 10.4.9 today via Software Update. So far no problems.
PowerMac G4, 1.25 GHz, 1.25 GB RAM, external Firewire drive (LaCie d2 Extreme)

Going to give it a try - after I do some backup - gilhero_dotmac

Apparently updating to 10.4.9 on PPC is best done using Software Update and not the download from versiontracker. I did notice the versiontracker is universal where SU is specific for your processor (G3, G4, G5, Intel...)

The first thing I noticed is the different size of the downloads. SU is 3MB larger for my processor (dual G4).

I'll come back here later to comment after I update.
