Updated two computers: G5 dual 2ghz tower & iMac 17" G5 2ghz.
Disk eject won't open tray on tower. Won't eject inserted disk on iMac. Big oops!
Can eject by right click and select 'eject'. Cmd-e doesn't seem to work either.

Disk eject doesn't work - houdini100
Apple discussions pointed out that you now have to hold the keyboard eject key down for the eject disk to work. It's a new 'feature'.Tuesday, March 13 2007 @ 08:10 PM PDT
Applies to the "restart" dialog too - slurslee
You must also hold down the eject key when using ctrl-eject to bring up the restart/shutdown/sleep dialog.Tuesday, March 13 2007 @ 10:49 PM PDT

Very good idea - I'm always knocking the eject key on my G5 keyboard - Thanks AppleWednesday, March 14 2007 @ 12:47 AM PDT

try holding down the eject key longer. Apparently Apple has added a delay to avoid inadvertent disc ejects when the key is accidentally hit.Reply to This
