Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

Recommend Product: YES

I read your comments as I was loading 102 photos from a shoot I had today. I have over 12,000 photos in the library.

I've NEVER had an issue with iphoto NEVER!

I've been using iphoto on a G4 since it came out and I've been using it on a new MacPro w/2 GB ram since December.

I really think you should investigate other things. Iphoto is not the problem.

In my experience with these new Macs you gotta repair permissions etc. at least once a month and BEFORE and AFTER any application is installed.

What R U guys smokin? - vze22hvy

Hans, I have 6 external drives and 1TB in the MAC PRO. I use several iphoto libraries that are NOT on my main drive to store my photos. I import the one I want just by changing the name to iphoto library (I have several names but the MAC only recognizes the plain vanilla file) so its easy to make additional libraries.

When I want to import I select the file and making sure I've changed the name from what I had it (perhaps iphoto library A to iphoto library). When I change the name from where it was Iphotp will tell me that it couldn't find the library and will ask if I want to find it. Since I've written down the new location (so I don't forget where it was) I simply find it and upload it.

It's also easy to have a folder on your desktop ) labeled anything you want to) and import to an existing library from that.

If you're gonna do photos you need a lot of storage space. You can also save to DVD's.

I hope this helps.

I'm not smoking anything, are you? - Marguer

I'm not smoking anything. And I've used iPhoto for a very long time. Do you think everyone's experience should mirror your own? What other imaging software are you using, what plugins are you using and do they require Rosetta or do they run native on Intel, what file formats are you using and from which other imaging software, what compression if any are you using in lossy formats, what size of files are you using, does every application and plugin preserve EXIF data, are you using color management, and what file formats are you using direct from your camera, what camera are you using....?

I think you can see why others might have problems at the same time others do not.

I appreciate the reality of your problem free reality, but questioning what I'm smoking really is not helpful. Enjoy your own smoke.

Addendum - Marguer

You say you've been using the product for over a year, but yet you cite the application on your MacBook. There hasn't been a single iPhoto over even the past year-there have been several updates and universal binaries/non universal/Intel versions. The iPhoto on your MacBook is not the same as the one running on your G4.

Also, the current version of iPhoto was only released two days ago.

And do you really think everyone has the same files and software on their computers that you have on yours?

?
