iStat pro is really a fantastic tool (!!!!), but there's just one small thing which is not so good...
It's always trying to connect to the internet, even if the auto-update function is disabled. This means that I always get a popup of my proxy-server for authentification. I'm really wondering why that happens? Looks like it's calling home...

It's probably the networking tab connecting to a service to determine your external (other side of your router if you have one) IP address.Turn off network tab too and see if it still happens?

Ok, it's freeware. It'll probably just notify the author of the tool's usage. Let's not get jumpy about iStat phoning home. And, as always you can set up your proxy/LittleSnitch/whatever-you-use to not allow outgoing connections for apps that don't have any business connecting to the net in the first place. This usually won't affect their functionality in the least.Reply to This
