I have used Daylite since the days of version 1.
Back in April of 2006 I posted some comments about Daylite 3, but abstained from rating the software. Additionally, I would recommend Daylite to other Mac users, with the warning that some bugs were present and some features had not yet been implemented.
Unfortunately time has passed and basic features that users have requested are still not implemented. For example, having recurring tasks with assignable timeblocks is not an option.
And some bugs are still present. Setting a reminder for a recurring activity is not working for me, as the reminder is not saved and Daylite does not give me any notification. And for some reason, for another activity I got a reminder the day after the activity was scheduled.
Yesterday I moved back to Entourage. Daylite was -and perhaps still is- very promising. Entourage has been more reliable, more convenient, has more features that I need and use, and overall has proven to be a better tool for my needs.
I still hope to see Daylite improve. After all, I invested time and money in the program. But I can’t recommend the software anymore. I have even avoided purchasing Billings 2 in spite of their discount price during the beta or offers through MacUpdate and MacZOT.
And seeing all those 5-star ratings from people who have never reviewed anything else leaves a bad impression. Just look at davidmrees, versiontracker495, Ladymacbeth1, allanfm. Questionable, at the very least.
For now it’s back to Entourage, and I look forward to the new Office version later this year. Daylite could be an amazing application, and I do hope it eventually delivers on its promise.

Supposedly the situation with Entourage will change later this year. By then maybe Daylite will be improved. Or perhaps even Chandler will be a viable alternative at that time :-)http://chandler.osafoundation.org/
I’m not too critical of Microsoft. For the most part I’m happy with Office, and the suite represents a lot of bang for the buck. Years ago I contacted support and they quickly solved the issues I was experiencing. It’s certainly not perfect, but for my needs it has proven to be a better alternative, and more deserving of my money.
I still have high hopes for Chandler :-)

Problem is that E2004 has even more annoying bugs than Daylite. Simply infuriating that, after 3 years and undoubtedly countless notifications, the MacBU has not fixed them nor really improved the user experience.Daylite, despite its numerous shortcomings is still pretty damn neat. Have used them both extensively over the past few years as they are the only 2 real options on the Mac for decent PIM. Can toleratate E2004 for about a week then run back to Daylite. The latter is in the process of being reworked to work with Sync Services.
