ffmpegx is for the mac, but it's as though the makers of this software really hates apple. compatibility with imovie and quicktime pro files is frustratingly bad. audio/video out of sync, audio but no video, video but no audio. OMG!!!! I know ffmpegx is just a gui for other apps and shouldn't be blamed, but an extra $8 gets you another program which is happy to work with any av file a mac can throw at it. ok, but i still recommend ffmpegx for the speed of encoding and the price.
