We have been using Deja Vu on my wife's Quicksilver Mac for a couple of years now and it has worked great. And I have had a few questions for Jeff Holland, the developer, and he has been very good about responding... Up until now.
Late last year the primary hard drive in our Mac died miserably... Thanks to Deja Vu, installing a new hard drive and resurrecting my wife's files was not that big a deal.
But in installing the new HD, I decided to upgrade to OS X Tiger. And the version 2.x Deja Vu we had would not work. So I downloaded and installed the 3.0 trial version and went to propagandaprod.com and ordered the $9.95 2.0 to 3.0 upgrade.
But now the trial version has expired and we still have not got the 3.0 serial number we need to upgrade. I have sent several emails to support@propagandaprod.com, dejavu@propagandaprod.com, and info@propagandaprod.com over the last three weeks but have not received a response.
If anyone knows what has happened to Jeff, you might want to post it here.
I would normally be singing Deja Vu's praises but not, unfortunately, if the developer has been kidnapped by martians or hit by a bus.

What's going on???? - dlcole
Same thing just happened to me. After paying for and using Deja Vu for some time, I now find that my serial number does not work and I cannot find the developer.Wednesday, May 16 2007 @ 08:34 AM PDT

The author may feel threatened by the new Time Machine software feature of the upcoming new Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Perhaps he's working on a new project and is checking in just to make sure the web site is up. I fear that Deja Vu may be approaching an unannounced end of life. If we don't hear from him, I'll wait for system 10.5 and use Time Machine as a replacement.Wednesday, June 20 2007 @ 09:17 PM PDT

I have experienced the same non-response mystery. I have not gotten the Monthly Backup schedule to work (V2.x) though the Weekly and manual process works. Last Month I was getting an error on the copy process and emailed propaganda about both issues - I haven't seen a response to any of the Propaganda email addresses and I haven't found a phone number on site. My inquiries have been very polite and I can live without the monthly schedule - I just want to undestand the error and how to correct it.Propaganda - are you out there?
