I was testing this software on a (ext2) hard drive with expendable data just to see how well it worked. I knew this is a "developer's" version and I was aware that it might kill the data--but as the data was expendable, no problem I thought--I could just reformat the drive.
However, I got a kernel panic as soon as I rebooted with this software installed and when my Mac started up again, it would no longer recognize the drive at all. I tried accessing the drive from a Linux PC, but the computer would not even boot with the drive attached.
All attempts to revive this hard drive have failed.
BEWARE: THIS SOFTWARE DESTROYED A PERFECTLY FUNCTIONING HARD DRIVE!

BEWARE: Fried my hard drive! - spedrosa+versiontracker
This is, to put it quite simply, *NOT POSSIBLE*.There is no way a filesystem driver is able to physically damage a hard-drive, no matter how badly written.
It can destroy data in it, nothing more.
Please, take the drive to someone who knows what he's doing, and he'll be able to fix it.
