Nice app... though I’m annoyed it’s not truly a system preference pane. For $20 the app is almost as expensive as a mouse... and unfortunately doesn’t offer that much benefit compared to other drivers. For $10 this would be a no-brainer... but for $20, as has been said numerous times in this forum, SteerMouse is just too expensive. Another example of a developer pricing himself out of the market... shame.

>Another example of a developer pricing himself out of the market...The only other driver on the market is USB Overdrive, which also costs $20. However it hasn't been updated for a year, and seriously lags SteerMouse now. I'm a registered user of USB Overdrive, but I'll have to buy SteerMouse too, since it fully supports my new Razer mouse, support which has been promised in USB Overdrive but doesn't arrive...

It's only expensive if you're comparing this against a cheap mouse. However, for serious control using devices like the Logitech MX Revolution, this is a SOLID and VALUABLE alternative to the standard Logitech driver. Also, USB overdrive, while nice, seems to be a "part time" project for the developer. I have no confidence we'll see an update soon.
In the meantime, this application has risen to the top of the heap.

Couldn't disagree more. If you have a $20 mouse, obviously the built-in HID drivers will be fine, and you don't need this software.
But for me, the mouse is a part of every minute of every day I spend in front of my computer -- and I've got no problem spending money to improve that experience. In the same way I'm willing to spend $80+ on fancy mice with lots o' buttons, I'm willing to spend $20 on great software like this that improves upon the OEM drivers. (Which always suck. For god's sake Logitech should swallow their pride and license this software!)

Too expensive! and Logitec... - tigerandyx9
fully agree!!! Logitec should buy this software to support their thousands of customers... I have been one for about 10 years and really enjoy the mice they make (and sound boxes) but have seen their support software go down in quality... and the support to older mice just about disappear.Ciao

"For $20 the app is almost as expensive as a mouse..."Gee, you can get a Bluetooth mouse for $20? Where?
In all seriousness, many mice, while they work with OS X, don't have drivers or customization software. An example is the Logitech V270 Bluetooth mouse. While Logitech's USB mice work with Logitech's control panel, the Bluetooth mice do not. The user cannot change what any of the buttons do--the scrollwheel button is useless in OS X, for example.
