Using to capture video from VHS

Feedback Type:  Troubleshooting Report

Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Have Not Tried

I have tried to use iMovie to capture video via Canopus ADVC-55, but some old tapes are skipping a lot and cutting out in iMovie.

I have read that some video capture apps allow users to turn off a setting so bad footage, dropped frames, etc. are allowed to be captured, rather than dropped, as iMovie is doing. Can CatDV handle this situation?

Thanks!

Capture video from VHS... - the13thsaint

I have owned a license to Live Capture plus for over a year and I feel you might, like me, find the freeware application Vidi to be much more useful in this situation. It has worked wonders for me capturing old hi8 and vhs tapes.

Capture video from VHS... - inpitlane

I have used the small app "MyVCR" for several years now and when all else fails it always works.
