The program had several serious flaws:
- if compression is enabled, Data Backup restores the files in compressed form
- if the backup disk is full, Data Backup stops backing up without any warning
- if you schedule a daily backup, you don't get a daily backup but a daily attempt to back up at a fixed time; if the computer is off at that time there is no backup and no warning
-sometimes Data Backup hangs after launching and you have to reinstall the whole thing (after which it has forgotten all your saved sets, scheduled backups and log files!)
This apart from many inelegances:
- it is slow
- no option to shut down the computer after a backup
- saved sets cannot be edited
- no predefined set that excludes caches and other things you don't need to backup
- the exclusion procedure is tiresome and does not support drag and drop
- the part of the screen that shows the exclusions is too small to see which files are excluded and which not
- you cannot adjust the size of the main screen
- the predefined set that says 'all files for Pipo de Clown' does not backup all files owned by 'Pipo de Clown' (as I would expect), but instead all files in the home folder of Pipo de Clown.
