3 is a Beta Version - BigEmptySky
Hello, if you used this version (3) and lost your family photo's, why would you do that? They VERY clearly state at the web site that vsn 3 is currently for beta testing.
Never, EVER, use beta software for important backups or cloning, EVER!!!
Use the previous version, which is still at the vendor web site.
Also this version is for Tiger.
CCC is good software and Mike Bombich has done a great job with it.

We feel your pain, BUT.... - sonicraft
CCC has been great for me. I haven't tried the latest version, but the previous versions have worked well.If you lost work, that is indeed unfortunate. I don't know what you expect from the developer as far as lost files. They have created a very solid FREE product. I use it all the time without problem. You had a data loss, but probably you will not be able to *censored* at the developer enough enable them to go back in time and prevent you from losing your data.
It is unclear whether you are "flaming" the developer for a past incident or for one related to the current version.

How did CCC cause you to lose your original data? Did it delete the originals?Monday, February 19 2007 @ 04:42 PM PST
SuperDuper FUD - Reson8tor
Sounds like more SuperDuper FUD. I tend to see this negative FUD directed at CCC from time to time. I've never had any issues with CCC and it's free. Much easier to use than SuperDuper. Anyway, if you use a beta you know the risks. How much do they pay you to promote this SuperDuper FUD. No class at all.
Just go away!

Great Software - eldest1
I don't know what Ancient_Boii_Tribe's glitch is, but I am sure whatever happened to his photos, it wasn't the fault of this software. CCC and NetRestore are indispensable and have been for years. Mike Bombich is a top-of-the-line contributor to the Mac community and he does it all for free. I have used both in a 350+ Mac environment without a single problem.Monday, February 19 2007 @ 06:53 PM PST

I hope they have improved- not only the software but the incredibly snotty "support". I switched to Super-Duper and have never looked back.Tuesday, February 20 2007 @ 10:18 AM PST

Read other posts by this person 'Ancient Boii Tribe'. He or she is a few fries short of a happy meal. Difficult to take their assessment with any kind of seriousness.Monday, February 26 2007 @ 06:57 AM PST

I am your God. I am the leader of my Tribe, feared by all. When I say an application is trash, then it is trash. It becomes law.Sunday, August 26 2007 @ 05:54 PM PDT

I feel terribly for "Ancient Boli Tribe" and his loose photos. He should totally sue everyone. What's even worse is that CCC has often saved MY family photos, while doing nothing for "Ancient". Plus, I got NO support either, just the "stupid forum" which taught me a lot, not just about CCC but about an assortment of filesystem issues. So, in summary, I say sue everyone who provides free software and give them a bad rating to make up for the five stars I'm going to give them. Hooray!
