Product Platform: MacOSX

Used Product For: Over One Year

from adobe's website:

Camera Raw 3.7 no longer supports per slider auto adjustments. One "Auto" control at the top of the panel now sets the Exposure, Shadows, Brightness, and Contrast sliders to their auto values.

change in 'auto' adjustment handling - William Robinson

This is how RAW is done in the beta of PCS3 [and Bridge 2]. A lot of people were unhappy with that choice (or rather lack of choice). If you're not using either of the two new cameras supported, I see no reason to update to this version of ACR.
